An Environmentally Friendly Project

The competence of the companies controlled by GTM makes it possible to control the requirements included in the brief of this Environmentally Freindly Project.

Foundations, hydrology
The lightness of the pile foundations causes minimal under ground disturbance (a 30 m long pile at the end of each 8 pillar), respects the Earth and in particular the groundwater's fluidity.

The redevelopment of the downstream point on solid ground (terrace, garden, banks) allows us to pay close attention to the island's existing ecosystems and to take into account environmental requirements..

Design life, durability:
The upkeep and maintenance devices, and in particular the system envisaged for replacing the protective timber shells, ensure a design life of around 300 years.

An exemplary building site
The Tree is a meccano set, assembled by mobile cranes.
The 30 m long elements of the wooden pillars are delivered by barges, and are assembled in on site workshops.
From the first day the building site, and an explanatory exhibition, can be visited by the public.
It is clean and waste free building site.

Building materials:
The timber used will be certified.

Lighting system:
It is ensured by low energy "firefly" lights.

Energy
The system of solar panels and heat pump give the Tree it's energetic autonomy and are a showcase for environmental technology. (1000 m² of solar panels at 105 m above ground level)

Air quality
The Tree will be also act as a device for the study of the quality of the air in Paris area (Airparif)
