THE "HABITACLE"

900 visitors at a time on five levels, cruciform in the image of satellites and the rooms of the chateau de Chambord.
At 90 and 95m above ground level, the fully glazed spaces host exhibitions about the planet Earth (tsunamis, tidal waves, scientific expeditions, and voyages to outer space).
They also hosts more ludic or cultural exhibitions.
The core of the collection being the planet Earth, the programming and scenography are in perpetual evolution and continually renew public interest.

L'habitacle de l'Arbre: table d'orientation planetaire
Around the "habitacle", a spiral promenade, 220 metres long and 3 metres wide.
At the foot of the Tree, Earth island, the "île Seguin" and the "ile de France".
Around an orbiting station, an allegory to the planetary dimension. The Tree's horizon is the World. In the spiral promenade, a planetary viewpoint indicator, 55 metres in diameter, locates all the world's continents.

The wings of the "habitacle" :

The load bearing points are organised on a 12 metre diameter circle and balance the masses. The cantilever between the outside of the "habitacle" and the load bearing timber pillars heightens the impression of extreme lightness. An impression of high flight, of balance.

The spiral promenade circumnavigates the cruciform exhibition spaces which are aligned with the cardinal points.

At 100m a cruciform terrace dominates the landscape (the second floor of the Eiffel Tower is at 115 m above ground level)
